Finding reliable childcare can be tough — especially when you’re juggling work, school schedules and busy family life. At Play Dates, we’re here to make things a little easier for local families by providing safe, caring and dependable before school care, after school care and school holiday programmes for children in the Temuka community.
Our programmes are designed to give parents peace of mind, knowing their children are in a supportive environment where they can relax, play, make friends and enjoy engaging activities. Whether it’s a calm start to the school day, a fun space to unwind after school, or exciting holiday adventures, Play Dates is all about creating a place where children feel happy, welcomed and cared for.
Before School Care
7.30am - 9am
Start the day stress-free with Play Dates Before School Care. We provide a calm, welcoming space where children can ease into the school day with quiet activities and caring supervision before heading off to class feeling settled and ready to learn.
Fees
1 child: $18 per child / per day
2 or more children: $15 per child / per day
After School Care
3pm - 5.30pm
Wind down the day with Play Dates After School Care. We provide a relaxed, welcoming space where children can unwind after school with fun activities, caring supervision, and time to connect with friends before heading home happy and settled.
Fees
1 child: $20 per child / per day
2 or more children: $18 per child / per day
School Holiday
Programmes
Make the most of the school holidays with Play Dates Holiday Programmes. We provide a fun, welcoming environment where children can enjoy exciting activities, make new friends, and stay engaged in a safe and caring space throughout the holidays.
Fees
School Day (8am - 3.30pm): $45 per child / per day
Work Day (8am - 5.30pm): $55 per child / per day

What to bring
Daily
Named drink bottle and unchbox including enough food for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea (for kids staying past 3.30pm)
Summer
Named sunhat and a change of clothes. We will provide sunscreen. If your child requires a special brand / type of sunscreen, please supply this.
Winter
Named warm jacket, beanie and a change of clothes.
More information
Please do not bring any personal electronic devices such as gaming consoles, Ipods, cell phones or similar to our programmes. Play Dates is not responsible for the loss or damage to any item brought to our programmes.
Please ensure children are appropriately dressed for the programme. Themed days and activities will be planned for each week. Details of these will be shared with parents prior to the start of each holidays.
Supervision and Safety
Our staff are trained in health and safety, behaviour management and leadership. At least one first aid certified staff member is always on site, and the safety and wellbeing of children in our care is our highest priority. Copies of our health and safety policies are available on request.
Health and Medical Conditions
If your child has a condition where medication is to be administered by our team, please ensure this is detailed in full on the enrolment form. A separate medication consent form will be provided and log is to be signed each day.
Sickness
Out of consideration of other children attending, please do not bring your child to the programme if they are unwell. Details regarding absenses and cancellations can be found in our terms and conditions. If your child(ren) have been been vomiting or had diarrhoea, they must not attend the programme for at least 48 hours following their last episode.
